Westport and Buller celebrate their founding with processions and sports events.
A brass band leads a procession of cars and a pipe band leads pioneers, soldiers, a horse-drawn fire cart, masons, druids and girl guides.

Events include an axeman competition, running races and maypole dancing by girl guides.

“Places of interest” are visited like: the hospital with the matron and nurses outside, the Westport Bowling Green, the Technical School, the National Portland Cement Company, the Buller Coalfield and the cliffs of marl and limestone at Cape Foulwind.
“The film created great excitement & enthusiasm showing to packed houses & also a matinee for children”. (Greymouth Star Wed 19/1/27)
