On Tuesday, February 21, 1927, the royal visitors arrive in Auckland. Hundreds of pleasure craft gather to give the HMS Renown a spectacular welcome as she enters the Waitemata Harbour.
The Royal party is met by the Governor General and other officials. The Duke and Duchess inspect the Guard of Honour.

“Midst stirring music and thunderous cheering the Royal Party passes through the multitude”. The couple are driven along Queen Street towards the Town Hall to attend a public reception.
“Wednesday February 22. A record assembly of school children gather to give a demonstration before the Duke of York.” School children move in formation, making a flag shape in a park.
