The characters of The Court of King Collywobble are introduced. King Collywobble is not very happy because he has a lot of bills to pay. He asks the Queen if he can buy a goat so he doesn’t have to at least pay the milkman each month. He buys a goat called Nanny from an old man, who chuckles when they part. However, the goat eats the Queen’s washing, and she tells the King to take the animal away. The goat has already cost him a year’s supply of milk. He puts Nanny in the cellar, which is used to put things they don’t use. The goat puts its head in a jug, and rushes out the door and escapes when the Queen investigates. King Collywobble will have to spend more money on putting things right.
