Nobby the troublemaking boy winds up a clockwork mouse and frightens the maid out of the kitchen. He then steals cookies from the cupboard. The maid tells the boy’s parents of the mouse and they discover that the mouse is a fake. A telegram bringing bad news of an impending visit is delivered to the house.
0:02:18 Intertitle: “TWO DAYS LATER.”; a [grandfather] arrives at the house. The boy puts ‘Morton Cooking Salt’ into the family coffee, changes the times on the clocks, and other mischievousness.
0:03:53 Intertitle: “... AND THAT NIGHT”; Grandfather gets into bed only to be woken by all the clock alarms going off. A grass snake crawls out of set up container and into grandfather’s bed. The last straw is when the bed base breaks away from the bed. Next morning grandfather complains to his hosts over breakfast and drinks the salted coffee. Grandfather leaves the house angry and slips on a banana skin. Nobby watches from the porch, pleased with his handy work.
