News coverage from "Morning Report'. Reporter Liam Jeory explains the implications of the Treaty of Waitangi Amendment Bil which was introduced to Parliament yesterday.

An excerpt of Ian McLean, M.P. for Tarawera, speaking in the House. He claims the Bill is the most dangerous piece of legislation he has ever seen and says it could open the way for endless Māori claims for recompense.

This is followed by a studio interview with Steven [Tipene] O'Regan, Ngāi Tahu Trust Board chairman and Māori historian. He discusses the implications of the Amendment Bill, which he says will give the Waitangi Tribunal more 'teeth'.

He says the recommendation that the Tribunal have a Māori majority is also long overdue.
