Black and white stills of Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt visiting New Zealand women working in jobs that support the war industry such as in the Ford Motor factory in Wellington, which has been converted into a munitions production line. There is a meeting with the Mayor of Wellington, the Honerable T.C. Hislop, and an inspection visit to US Marine Camp Russell in Paekakariki. The photography is by US Marines attached to specialist film units, who were stationed in New Zealand at this time. Stills in this set capture the First Lady’s visit and itinerary on her third and final day in the capital city, Monday, 30 August 1943.
