Various shots (with decomposition) taken during a riverboat trip up the Whanganui River. Shots from riverbank of Hatrick steamer, SS Wakapai being pulled by cable upstream through the rapids, with foredeck crowded with well dressed tourists, and with Hatrick Steamship Company house flag flying from stern.

The SS Wakapai was a single screw vessel launched in 1905 with a capacity for 100 passengers and plied the upper reaches of the Whanganui between Pipiriki and the houseboat situated en route to TaumarUnui.
