The Clean are a New Zealand band who are closely identified with the “Dunedin Sound” championed and promoted by the Flying Nun records label. The 3 piece band consists (typically) of brothers Hamish and David Kilgour and Robert Scott (The Bats), but has had other band members who are also notable members of the Flying Nun roster of bands. The Clean have released a number of albums, singles and EP’s with “Beatnik”, “Point That Thing Somewhere Else”, “Anything Could Happen” and “Tally Ho!” being their best known songs.

This is the music vide for “Tally Ho” which was released as a 7” single by The Clean in 1981. It reached number 19 in the singes charts which “shocked and delighted” the band.

TITLE “Tally Ho” then “The Clean”, scratched onto the film stock. The band are shown standing, walking and laying on the footpath of a street in Parnell with the film run backwards. This is inter-cut with orange tinted, negative footage of the band performing live and messing about in a playground.
