This silent black and white amateur home movie is part of the Caleb Wyatt collection.

A high angle view shows two women playing with children in the garden of 14 Tamar Street, New Plymouth, the home of Caleb Wyatt. Caleb’s wife, Alvinza pulls a toy wagon; the children play with the wagon and take turns towing each other. They play with various toys and roll on top of each other. Caleb Wyatt Jnr rides a tricycle and one of the girls pushes him. Alvinza brings the toddler to join the other woman and the children play on the lawn. The two women pose for the camera.

Alvinza and Caleb Jnr (boy wearing hat) are seen in another garden with another family. The children play cricket in the garden while a man sits in a chair and watches them. The man on the chair looks into the camera while fanning himself with his hat from the apparent heat.

A bridal party walk towards the camera. The bridal couple, Ian and Jean Cameron, rush into a car as confetti is thrown then the car drives off. The wedding group pose for the camera while the bridal couple are sprinkled with confetti. The bridal couple kiss before running across a lawn.

Three men play lawn bowls, Garnet Saunders (no hat), Bert Bailey (bearded). The winner’s hand is shaken and the men pose for the camera. (scene repeats).

A high angle view of a street parade down Devon Street, New Plymouth. A Highland pipe band, marching girls and people wearing giant heads made of papier-mâché all feature in the parade.

Scenes at Ngamotu Beach, New Plymouth. A large crowd can be seen on the shoreline. Other activities such as people on a merry-go-round, a person water skiing behind a motor boat who falls off, girls dancing on a platform (competitions are Sailor’s Hornpipe, Irish Jig, Highland Fling) can be seen.
Caleb Jnr plays in a pool on sand on the shoreline. Two army Bren gun carriers drive along Devon Street, New Plymouth escorted by cyclists. The Bren gun carriers drive up and down Marsland Hill, New Plymouth with crowds watching at the top of the hill. The New Plymouth Observatory can be seen in background.
Men erect large circus tents at the A&P Showgrounds, Fitzroy, New Plymouth. Men drive in large tent pegs and haul the tent up a pole. A long shot shows the erected tent tops and the interior. Sheep arrive on the back of a truck among a crowd. Rams can be seen grazing. Other animals including horses and ponies graze in the circus area and an elephant pulls a trailer loaded with equipment. Children gather around and pat and stroke some ponies.  Caleb Jnr can be seen on a pony.
A group of elephants walk in a line through a crowd of children. The elephants drink from a stream. The elephants gather on showground as men drive stakes into the ground.
The big top circus tents can be seen beyond rooftops of houses.
