On the day before the opening of parliament is a dress rehearsal at parliament grounds with music performed by the Military District Artillery Bands. The guard of honour is by Her Majesty’s New Zealand Army. The Queen arrives at Queens Wharf to waiting, expectant crowds. The most important duties for the Queen on this tour is the opening of parliament, and investiture at the Town Hall.
