Documentary series exploring the unique diversity of New Zealand's natural history. This programme is about the conservation of “the lost bird that was found again” - the takahe (Notornis Mantelli). The NZ Wildlife Service deals with the multiple threats to this critically endangered and declining rail: predation by stoats, competition by red deer and the lack of nitrogen and phosphorus in their favoured tussock food.
