“Warming up - Speedway.” Men prepare their motorbikes for the races that night. Starting bikes. Racing at the Taita Speedway in the Hutt Valley.
“Cooling off - Water Polo.” Outside the Riddiford Baths in Lower Hutt, the venue for the Wellington and Provincial Water Polo Contest. Match in the pool.
“Something New - Trolley Derby.” A portable ramp erected (out of scaffold) on the back field of Hutt Valley High School is the venue for a box-car trolley derby. Trolleys on the track (lined with Union Jacks). Trolley crashing. Judges inspecting the vehicles.
“Yachting”. Small yacht regatta at Rona Bay, Eastbourne, over Anniversary Weekend featuring Tauranga class boats. Sailing on Wellington harbour. Winners are the Evans Bay team.
