Project Manager Te Wharau Project - Poutaki Hinonga Te Wharau

We’re looking for an experienced project manager who has a background in creating, planning and implementing new processes as a critical part of project implementation. This is a fixed-term position for a 12-month duration. There is an element of change management in the role, and you will need to work within established archival standards and policies but also be proactive about identifying gaps within those standards and policies.

You will thrive on working with a wide range of kaimahi so that the new processes are collaboratively developed and implemented. Critical to the role’s success will be seeing the project through to a stage where ongoing processes are well established and documented, with robust monitoring and reporting in place.

Mō te tūranga | The role will see you

As a Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in planning and implementation of our Te Wharau Project, including:

  • Working with our GM Collection Management and Collection Management leaders to plan the relocation and processing of collection materials.
  • Working with our wider Āhuru project team to ensure work at Te Wharau is aligned with other joint Collection Management and Property initiatives.
  • Working closely with our Collection Archivists to adapt existing workflows and design new collection processing workflows that support work at scale.
  • Develop and embed quality metrics and monitoring.
  • Use your excellent relationship management skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and keep the project running to expected milestones.

You are someone who is confident in finding pragmatic solutions to achieve big results, accessing the best of kaimahi expertise and adding new thinking and a focus on timely delivery.

You bring:

  • At least five years’ experience in project management, including planning and implementation.
  • Collaborative mindset and strategic thinking.
  • Experience designing and implementing new processes, policies and workflows.
  • Relationship management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience with change management, reviewing and introducing new processes into organisations.
  • Strong monitoring and reporting experience and excellent documentation management.
