A documentary looking at alternatives to fossil fuels through the production of Bio-Diesel in New Zealand.
Darren Wood uses used cooking oil from restaurants to produce the diesel. Skipper of Earthrace NZ, Pete Bethume, uses his boat to promote bio-fuels. Derek Firth of Biodiesel Oils (NZ) Ltd. who make fuel from tallow tells of the viability of bio-fuels in NZ. They are combining with BP and the Christchurch bus system to experiment with fuel’s efficiency.
The algae from sewage ponds is being used as a source of fuel by Nick Gerritsen of the Aquaflow Bionomic Corporation.
Jim Watson of Genesis Research & Development is using a willow shrubs to produce ethanol.
