The New Zealand Consul in Bahrain says that most of the 300 New Zealanders in the region are determined to stay. Don Harwood, (N Z Consul Bahrain)

Prime Minister Jim Bolger held a special cabinet meeting today on the Gulf crisis.
He said the government is closely monitoring the situation and has ordered extra security around possible terrorist targets here. Security has also been tightened at airports.
