''When Tai Hobson's wife Mary was murdered in a triple homicide by William Bell at the Panmure RSA he became the face of victims' rights and created legal history in New Zealand. Now Inside New Zealand: Paying for Murder, screening Thursday, September 4th at 9:30pm on 3, follows Hobson's battles with the legal system over the past seven years.
Tai and Mary Hobson both worked at the local RSA and both knew Mary’s killer they helped William Bell during the six weeks he had a job at the RSA. The worker was fired for trying to get access to where the club money and alcohol was kept.
No one told the staff at the RSA that the young man who was on parole had over a hundred previous convictions, many for crimes of violence. William Bell was a ticking time-bomb.'' Throng.co.nz; 25/11/2008
