Side 1: Miss New Zealand 1947, Mary Wootton, is interviewed by Hilton Porter prior to her trip to Sydney and then on to England, New York, Hollywood and Canada. She discusses her itinerary as arranged by the Royal Society of St George, and a planned visit to designer Norman Hartnell in London where she has been promised a dinner gown and 'a tailored costume', which she says she will no doubt always treasure.

She plans to visit the United States and will go to New York, landing at the new Idlewild Airport, which will have just opened and is the biggest in the world. She will also travel across Canada and go to Hollywood before returning home.

Side 2: Mary Wooton is interviewed by broadcaster 'Marina' in Auckland, prior to her departure. She talks about how she will be representing New Zealand in her talks in England, the USA and Canada.
