A weekly extended-interview programme broadcast nationwide on Sunday nights on Newstalk ZB. The programme features a different high-profile guest every week talking about their life, upbringing, passions, world-view, faith and spirituality. This recording is of a network feed from Auckland. There are holes in the broadcast to allow for stations to insert local content. Real Life with John Cowan is funded by New Zealand On Air. In today's programme:

Sir Colin Meads played 55 test matches (133 total games), most frequently in the lock forward position, for New Zealand's national team, the All Blacks, from 1957 until 1971. Meads is widely considered one of the greatest players in history. Nicknamed 'Pinetree', he is an icon within New Zealand rugby, and was named the country's Player of the Century at the NZRFU Awards in 1999.

These days he is a frequent public speaker at events and still appears in a number of television spots, including lifejacket safety awareness, and has featured on Mainland Cheese television adverts throughout the later half of 2009 and early 2011.
