POLLOCK, BEVERLY, Interviewer

In this programme, broadcaster Beverly Pollock interviews New Zealand entertainer John Fuller. He and his wife are visiting New Zealand from Sydney, where they live.

Fuller lived in Dunedin as a child - he shares his memories of Dunedin theatre, and speaks about his family's history in show business and vaudeville entertainment there. The Fuller family also toured a vaudeville theatre circuit in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland. He speaks about particular theatres, including the Princess Theatre (previously known as the St James Theatre).

He also speaks about the future of television, which he thinks is a wonderful thing for entertainment and science. He recalls a poetry recital he attended when he was young, of the poem "Not Understood" by Thomas Bracken - this had a great impact on him.

The interview concludes with John Fuller giving his age (coming up to 77), he says he keeps sprightly by doing seven minutes 'limbering' every morning. He gives his thoughts on smoking - saying he used to smoke, but doesn't anymore.
