This incomplete episode of Radio Digest features interviews with Helena Rubinstein and West Australian sheep farmer, Maitland John Quartermaine.

Helena Rubenstein, who is aged 86, visited New Zealand recently and is interviewed in Auckland by an unidentified female broadcaster. She trained to be a doctor but changed to study chemistry on moving to Australia.

She discusses her successful international beauty business and the skin of women in different countries. She travels about 4-5 months a year and has homes in several countries. She talks about her collection of doll's houses and furniture, which are now very valuable and her other collections.

She says she owes her success to hard work, working 14-15 hours a day at first.

Australian Maitland John Quartermaine farms about one million acres of land, running 7-8 thousand sheep. He is interviewed about how he manages such a huge property, which is in the middle of Western Australia.

He discusses food supplies, medical care and the Flying Doctor service.
