00.00 - 04.40: Announcer - "Tena koutou..." Introduces Sean Ellison, who outlines his tribal connections, they being Taranaki and Kai Tahu through his father, Ngāti Porou (Boyd family), Te Arawa (Dansey family), but brought up in Waikato (Kawhia).

04.40 - 06.21: Presently (at time of recording) undertaking thesis for Masters Degree based on the Ngāti Ruahotu hapu of Ngāti Tuwharetoa.

06.21 - 21.08: Various questions by Hēnare Te Ua in regards to Sean's dialectical study. Follows on from various wananga held on Te Reo o Taranaki. Many textbooks are not inclusive of Taranaki dialect. Two research officers appointed, and sponsored by the Department of Māori Affairs, of which Sean is one and Ruakere Hond the other. The area of study to look at the 8 tribes within the Taranaki region - "each with their own way of speaking". "H" not completely dropped, but pronounced softly. Word lists to be distributed amongst kaumatua, based on New Zealand Council for Educational Research lists Nga Kupu Pu Noa, and to be used comparatively.
