Monty Matarehua Wikiriwhi received the Military Cross for gallantry during the Battle of Cassino in 1944.

In 1985, Granada Television of the United Kingdom produced a documentary about the Battle of Cassino.

The company invited many former soldiers who took part in the Battle, including Monty Wikiriwhi to travel to Cassino and subsequently appear in the documentary.

In this recording he talks about his trip in 1985 with Te Pere Curtis.
