Formed three years ago, Te Whānau a Apanui is representing Mātaatua for the second time. Te Whānau a Apanui district has always been renowned for its music and songs, poi and haka especially during the time of WWII.
Led by Hannah Albert (kaitātaki wahine) and Rikirangi Gage (kai tātaki tāne) who tutor the group, assisted by Maaka Jones.
