The re-dedication of the flagstaff Te Raki oi o Mataahu which was originally erected by Major Rapata Wahawaha in 1872 at Waipiro Bay.

Present at the hui on Kiekie Marae were Arnold Reedy, George Reedy, Hoki Fox, Tawhai Tamepo, Pahau Milner, Reverend Tipi Kaa and Reverend Te Kepa Paenga.

Leo Fowler gives an introduction to the proceedings.

- Haka Powhiri : "Aue, no wa te motoka e ruka mai na nga rori"

- Action song : Pohiri tia ra nga morehu, te iwi tangihia.

- Powhiri : Taku powhiri / Ka panapana

Hoki Fox addresses the audience in te reo Māori and then English. He welcomes them to the marae and gives a short history of the flagpole and its meaning to Ngāti Porou.

Tawhai Tamepo welcomes the visitors to the marae and speaks about the significance of the flagstaff. He speaks in te reo Māori and then English.
