0700 NEWS FOREST CORP SALE - A Fletcher Challenge-led consortium gas paid the government just over two billion dollars for Forestry Corp and the future of the corporation and its workers is now the topic of much debate. Opposition parties and mill workers are unhappy, but Fletchers says the move will actually create more jobs. 0730 NEWS/WEATHER/SPORTS RUSSIA - Thousands of refugees are fleeing the Chechan capital Grozny, following an attack from Russian forces against the rebels in control of the city. Live i/v with Andrew Harding from the Chechan border. FOREST CORP SALE - The sale price of Forestry Corp was tipped to be 1.7 to 1.9 billion dollars, but it sold for over 2 billion. INTERNET/TELECOM - Internet providers are appealing to the Commerce Commission to investigate telecom's place in the internet market, claiming they can affird to set up a company that can't pay its way, and offer the lowest price. PAEDOPHILIA - Save the Children, Christian Aid and Barnados in London are calling for tougher international laws on paedophilia. 0830 NEWS/SPORTS WHITEWATER TRIAL - Susan McDougal, a former business partner of Bill Clinton, has been sentenced to two years jail in the Whitewater trial. DAIRY MERGER - The merger between two of the country's biggest dairy companies, Tui Milk Products and Kiwi Dairies, is off. Tui shareholders failed to give the move the 75% support it needed to go ahead. (Jill Galloway) SHARKS - Scientists believe ground shark cartilage could inhibit the growth of blood vessels that feed cancerous tumors, but they're not hailing the find as a cure for cancer yet.
