Nick Hirst reports on the death of Auckland computer broker Paul White. He interviews John Banks, National's Minister of Police.
Mr White died on the weekend in a car accident near the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Allegations have been made by an anonymous informant that Mr White's death was deliberate, as Mr White had uncovered secret transfers to overseas bank accounts belonging to Members of Parliament. The information was on 86 floppy disks Mr White was mistakenly sent by Citibank, and the bank had paid him $15,000 for the return of the disks. Mr Banks says the allegations will be investigated.
Alan Ornstin speaks to Bob Eichfeld, Chief Executive of Citibank, who claims there was nothing incriminating on the disks.
