The first writers bursary awarded to a writer by Alex Harvey Industries (AHI) has gone to Margaret Scott of Wellington, who has been editing the letters of Katherine Mansfield and the $7000 provided jointly by the company and the Literary Fund will enable her to work full time on the project.
