Before her death , acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) victim Eve Van Grafhorst asked that a film be made about her life. Her battle against Aids and the prejudice which surrounds it is traced by footage of her throughout her illness.
Eve narrates much of the film and introduces her family and friends. She is shown meeting Elton John, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Jim Bolger and Helen Clarke, visiting Disney land and being an air hostess on an Air NZ flight. In 1992, Eve and her mother Gloria Taylor hit the road and travelled to Northland. They visited schools and marae talking about AIDS.

“ This is the story about Eve van Grafhorst. Born three months premature, Eve contracted AIDS through a blood transfusion given to save her life. When Eve was diagnosed at age 3, her family was shunned, parents kept their children away from her and the pre-school she attended refused her entry. Her family was forced to leave their home in Australia, and to emigrate to New Zealand to start a new life.
Wise, funny, loving and courageous, Eve has educated many New Zealanders about AIDS. ‘All About Eve’ is her story, her perspective on life, death, love, friends, family, AIDS and God. It includes archival footage from the time of ostracism in Australia, the start of her new life in New Zealand, and moving scenes of her battle against the disease, and of her constant drive to educate the public and support her friends with AIDS. An extraordinary child, and an extraordinary story.” - (Top Shelf Winter Catalogue 1996/7, pg 21)
