[Katherine Findlay] reports on the craft of Flax (harakeke) weaving , recently being rediscovered by Maori. She meets T. Baker who quit her job at Wellington Polytechnic and travelled to Rotorua where she became involved with harakeke weaving while in the process of learning te reo Maori.
Katharine Findlay also reports on industrial design by visiting and interviewing two design students at Elam in Auckland, and Wellington polytechnic design school where industrial, textile and photography students learn the skills for their trade.
Also covered is a Paul Clay exhibition with New Zealand abstract artist [Geoff Thornley].
