Changes to the Ngā Taonga Board of Trustees

At their most recent meeting, the Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision Board confirmed some changes to Board membership. 

Broadcaster Whetu Fala is stepping down as Co-Chair after completing her term and will be leaving the Board. Alongside Emily Loughnan, Whetu has shared Co-Chair responsibilities since January 2022 and has been a member of the Board since 2017. Whetu will be replaced as Co-Chair by existing Board member Lynell Tuffery Huria. We thank Whetu for her commitment to the Ngā Taonga Board over the last five years. 

The Board has appointed Annie Murray (Te Arawa) as its newest Trustee. Annie is a senior television executive with many years of experience as a commissioner of local content for various broadcasters including Television New Zealand, Whakaata Māori and Sky. Annie has particular expertise in Māori content, children’s programmes, drama and documentaries, and has commissioned many ground-breaking and award-winning programmes. She also serves on the board of Toi Mai and the Bay of Plenty Regional Skills Leadership Group.

Whetu has been on the Ngā Taonga Board for five years and shown great commitment and passion for caring for the taonga of Aotearoa.”
