Te Aurere (Waka)

Henare Te Ua tells Geoff Robinson a Pageant of Waka (canoes) is underway
in Rarotonga. The pageant is part of Polynesia's sixth Festival of the
Arts, featuring participants from 23 countries. Thirteen waka have come
to Rarotonga and gathered at Avana Harbour, commemorating the site which
canoes are thought to have left for New Zealand carrying early Māori
settlers. New Zealand's waka, Te Aurere, is still on its way to the
pageant.
