Talk by Lieutenant Colonel John Brooke-White: "With the Engineers of the 3rd N.Z. Division"

He talks about the work of divisional engineers in making their mark on the Pacific jungles: construction of beach landing places, provision of water supply, bridging, road making, demolitions and the clearing of jungle for camps are among the engineers' main tasks.

Recently they helped the American Naval Seabees with the urgent construction of an airfield.

He describes the challenges the tropical jungle presents to the sappers, and gives the example of the processes involved in making a new road in the forest.
