A health department study has come out showing that people living in small town New Zealand have more ill health, and higher death rates than the rest of the population.

The government announced the privatisation of the Government Printing Office this afternoon. The decision to sell of the 125 year old business follows the recommendations of a steering committee which reported to government in March.
