Veteran broadcaster Jessica Weddell has been mentor to many a young radio voice - among them, Lindsay Perigo, Neil Billington and Margaret Inge. Back in Masterton, in the mid-60s, she was very possibly the first person to use live talkback in this country.

Weddell is a follower of U.S. novelist Ayn Rand, who advocated the supremacy of individual rights."She believes in the heroic aspect of man," says Weddell, "not man, the subservient cog of the state."

Jessica Weddell shares some of her beliefs and values with Neville Glasgow.
