1. Sir Eugen Millington-Drake recalls Captain Langsdorff, Commander of the German pocket battleship, Admiral Graf Spee. He also talks of the Battle of the River Plate in December, 1939. Recorded in the 1960's.
2. A speech given by President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, during the Cuban missile crisis on October 23, 1962.
3. Mrs. Ritiche of Nevis, Otago, describes the great snowfall in Central Otago on July 31, 1878. Recorded in the 1960's.
4. Memories of the blacksmiths work in Central Otago in the 1890's given by a group of unknown speakers. Recorded in 1962.
5. Stan Worth speaks of being present when Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt signed the Atlantic Charter on board the HMS Prince of Wales in the 1940's. Recorded on April 12, 1962.
