IRD are preparing to clamp down on those students with Student Loans after the Prime Minister announced the government was going to "reign in the scheme in a big way". IRD went to the market seeking information from debt collection agencies and their ability to provide services for accessing students now living overseas who owe the IRD money for backpayments on their student loans. Andrew talks with Richard Owen (Assurance Manager IRD) on how they plan to approach this project.
Lost in Translation: Fred Bennett is the Nelson Brewers Bar & Restaurant owner who employed a Thai chef in his restaurant to prepare a Thai menu and come up with an authentic Thai branding. He was somewhat bewildered as to why Thai customers were not beating a path to his restaurant door. As it turns out, the Thai name given for his establishment by the former chef - meant, "Go away and don't come back". The restaurant has now been renamed to Victory Thai [location on Victory Square, Nelson] talks about the matter.
