The 1993 Composing Women's Festival is programme 2 of 6. This features
three works by women composers. They are:
1) "Hono Daiko" (Taiko drumming) performed by Emma Sayers and Sumuki
McDonald. This piece is described as the village's harvest thanksgiving
for the gift of rice. Dur: 2'50".
2) "Marimbulations" composed by Eve de Castro-Robinson and performed by
Gareth Farr (percussion) for whom the work was written. Premiere
performance. Dur: 18'40".
3) "Te Aruru 0 te Pasifika" (the Thunder Of The Pacific), performers
unknown as is the composer. Dur: 7'30". Cook Island drumming.
