Side 1.
Ulric Williams introduces the programme 'Music of Samoa', noting the similarities and differences between Māori and Samoan music.
A love song, 'In the quiet of the evening' is sung by The Marist Brothers School of Apia. The recordings in this programme were made by the NZBS when they visited Samoa a couple of years ago.

Next an older song is performed by the choir of the Native Department in Apia. It is about the war of 1899 during which Apia was shelled by British and American ships.

A song and dance by women from a village not far from Apia and two songs by the [Aveli] Boys School: Lau lau siva and Tofa mai feleni.

Ulric Williams signs off with theme tune.

Side 2.
Ulric Williams introduces the programme (as above) 'Music of Samoa'. [Only narration introduction, ends before music starts].
