1. The Fiji Government has kept its silence over the graphic video of two men being beaten that emerged online on Tuesday.

2. Pacific leaders have told the United Nations that violence against women in the region is unacceptably high.

3. There are calls in Palau for the United States to work harder to find a permanent home for a group of Chinese Uighurs (wee-gurs), accepted by Palau after the men spent years locked up by the US in Guantanamo Bay.

4. Almost eight months after it arrived in Vanuatu, the super-yacht The Phocea remains detained by authorities in Port Vila due to lack of proper registration.

5. Harold Keke, a Guadalcanal leader of a bloody campaign against people from Malaita during a period of violent ethnic unrest in Solomon Islands is being described by Kamilo Teke in his new book, as having the same goals as Nelson Mandela.

6. New Zealand MP Maryan Street is calling on politicians in Solomon Islands to use their influence to improve the sexual and reproductive health of teenagers there by investing in effective contraception education.

7. The Fiji Government is encouraging its students to take up scholarships in 'non-traditional' countries.

8. American Samoa is among other U.S. states and territories affected by across the board cuts to federal agencies.

9. A team of scientists in Papua New Guinea believe they have discovered at least 80 new species of flora and fauna.
