This current affairs programme is hosted by new radio broadcaster, Duncan Garner. This is the first broadcast for Duncan as the permanent presenter for this show.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE:
The recording begins with a news bulletin normally presented by Geoff Bryan or Liz Parsons. A sports bulletin follows (usually presented by John McNeil or Jeff McTainsh) and then a traffic report and weather bulletin follows along with radio advertisement placement. Upon completion of this initial bulletin, the major news headlines are repeated again before the presenter introduces the programme's schedule for the day.

SEGMENT 1: NEWS STORY
A jury has returned in the murder trial of Phillip Cotterill, Nikau Waipuka has been found not guilty of murdering Phillip Cotterill, but guilty of manslaughter after he admitted punching Mr Cotterill. The other co-accused, Manuel Robinson has been found not guilty of either charge which brought a wave of relief from family members in the gallery. Paul Gallagher, Radio Live Reporter reports live from Wellington on the jury's decision.

NEWS UPDATE
At approximately quarter past the hour, Geoff Bryan presents the latest major news headlines, which is followed by a number of radio advertisements and traffic report.

SEGMENT 2:
TV3 News reporter, Hamish Clarke reports live from Samoa in a pre-recorded interview with Duncan on the devastation of Cyclone Evan. Fiji's second largest city, Lautoka has been severely battered in the last few minutes.

SEGMENT 3: LEFT RIGHT POLITICAL FIGHT
Deborah Coddington (Political Commentator) and Willie Jackson (Political Commentator) debate the latest political footballs.

NEWS UPDATE
At the bottom of the hour (half past the hour) Geoff Bryan presents the major news stories of the hour, followed by a sport bulletin (normally with Jeff McTainsh or John McNeil), then more radio advertising. Newsreader (normally Geoff Bryan or Liz Parsons) then follows with a traffic report and weather bulletin for Auckland.

DAILY BUSINESS RATE
Bernard Hickey (Editor, interest.co.nz website) provides the latest business and economic news including sharemarket prices and the NZ dollar.

US President has delivered a speech acknowledging the tragic circumstances of the murder spree of 26 victims at a school by one of the staff's children. He also alluded to the need to review the countries gun laws. David Hemmingway, Harvard Professor who has written extensively on guns and politics. Duncan asks David whether any changes will be seen in light of this latest incident.

Normally, a radio advertising segment follows (which includes a weather bulletin and traffic report).

Duncan wraps up the programme by summarising signs off for the evening, then a radio advertising break follows.
