Insight '90 looks into Fiji's economic recovery.
May 14th, 1987 news of the South Pacific's first ever military coup d'etat rocked the Pacific ... immediately the academics were predicting major economic problems for the island country and their predictions were quickly born out as the business sector ground to a near halt. Three years later under an interim government Fiji has defied the predictions and to a certain extent .. the critics, posting one of the most remarkable turnarounds in a third world economy.
