0'30". Tk 2 - The 1974 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony held at QEII, Christchurch.. This is actuality with plenty of atmosphere, including the introduction of each team as it enters the stadium along with appropriate brass band music performed by the combined bands - the New Zealand Army Band, the National Band of New Zealand, Caledonian Pipe Band and the Scottish Society Pipe Band. The countries are in the following order:
1) Scotland - the host country of the 1970 Commonwealth Games. Music -
Scotland The Brave.
2) Australia, music - Waltzing Matilda.
3) Bahamas.
4) Barbados.
5) Bermuda - NB: sound cuts out for a few seconds.
6) Botswana.
7) Canada, music - Allonette.
8) Cook Islands.
9) England, music - Here's A Health Unto Her Majesty.
10) Fiji, music - Isa Lei.
11) Ghana.
12) Gibraltor.
13) Grenada.
14) Guernsey.
15) Hong Kong.
16) India.
17) Isle Of Man.
18) Jamaica.
19) Jersey - NB: sound cuts out for a few seconds.
20) Kenya.
21) Lesotho - introduction only and then continued on Tape 5 of 7.
Please Note - the brass bands are NOT playing specific national anthems
of each country, rather a song that each country identifies with.
