Woodward, Roy, Announcer
3YA (Radio station : Christchurch, N.Z.), Broadcaster

3YA announcer Roy Woodward introduces various sounds heard in Christchurch.

Included are bicycle bells; the sound of a leaf "sucker-upper" and factory bells. Roy Woodward declares Christchurch factory whistles to be 'people' and proves this by comparing the moods of various whistles: some can be perky, or gloomy, or confident. They have their common ailments too, some suffering terribly from asthma.

The whistles are then heard as the 'Christchurch Factory Whistles Choir' performing 'This Old Man', accompanied by George on piano.
