Live coverage of the National programme's Breakfast Session from 6.14am held outside the Treaty House at Waitangi to celebrate the first New Zealand Day. The programme is presented by Phillip Liner.

[The New Zealand Day Act 1973 made February 6th a public holiday in New Zealand and the day had previously been called Waitangi Day. In 1976 the National government changed the named back to Waitangi Day].

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prime Minister, Norman Kirk are present at the celebrations.
