1. Nauru's chief justice [i.e. Geoffrey Eames] who has been barred from the country for the past month says he accepts that his job has gone and he wants to help in the selection of a replacement.

2. Questions are being raised about the workability of Fiji's political parties decree after the government said it was looking at strengthening parts of it.

3. A report into the illegal sale of Vanuatu passports has been delivered to Government ministers, with some promising to take action.

4. The largest insurance company in Tonga says only about 15 percent of homes in Ha'apai have been insured against cyclones.

5. Fiji landowners say government officials are playing to the wishes of a mine developer and ignoring their concerns.

6. The Secretariat of the Pacific Community says the region is facing exceptional pressure from mosquito borne diseases.

7. Films about the struggle for independence and survival after decades of exposure to nuclear testing have been the big winners at the Pacific Documentary Film Festival in French Polynesia.

8. Tongan luge star Bruno Banani has hinted he will make another tilt at the Winter Olympics, but not necessarily in the same sport.
