1. The logistics manager for Save the Children in Solomon Islands, Graham Kenna, says at least a quarter of the population on Guadalcanal have been affected by this week’s flooding.

2. Political parties and NGOs in Fiji have been trying to come to grips with the rules set out for the election scheduled for September the 17th.

3. The Fiji Trade Union Congress says it is going to intentionally flout a new decree by the regime, placing restrictions on political parties.

4. The Fiji High Court has found former Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry guilty of breaching the Exchange Control Act.

5. The Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme is calling for swift, concentrated and global action to respond to the escalating risks such as reef damage and rising sea levels.

6. The police in Samoa are to begin rolling out a national dog registration system this month, as part of its long term solution for the country's stray dog problem.

7. None of French Polynesia's main political parties has managed to make any substantial gains in the municipal elections.

8. In the wake of a worrisome report on Samoa's tourism industry, the Samoa Hotels Association has accused a private sector group of "sabotaging" the industry.
