1. A damning report has found children detained indefinitely at the Australian asylum camp on Nauru are suffering from extreme levels of distress. [i.e. The Australian Human Rights Commission report: The Forgotten Children]

2. Australia's former Prime Minister [i.e. Malcolm Fraser] has criticised the goverment's response to a damning report on children in detention as disgraceful and based on a lie.

3. The Marshall Islands is planning to go as far as possible to win a case over nuclear disarmament despite a setback in a United States court last week.

4. Human rights groups have welcomed the announcement that manslaughter charges have been laid against eight police officers and a soldier for the death of a man [i.e. Vilikesa Soko] in police custody last year.

5. Tonga and Palau have partnered in an effort to reduce the impact of climate change on their coasts.

6. The Papua New Guinea government has clarified its position with regards to Indonesia after strong statements from prime minister Peter O'Neill on human rights abuses in neighhbouring Papua.

7, Tuvalu's foreign minister [i.e. Taukelina Finikaso] says he hopes to begin negotiating an expansion of New Zealand's seasonal employer scheme to include trades sometime this year.
