A weekly highlights programme broadcast nationwide on Saturday mornings on Newstalk ZB. Highlights are drawn from the Farming Show – a daily magazine-style programme broadcast 12pm - 1pm. The programme contains interviewees and regular commentators talking about farming and agribusiness in New Zealand. The programme began broadcasting in 1994. In this recording it is preceded by a news and sports bulletin, and weather forecast. The following rundown is sourced from the Farming Show website:

1. Bruce Cameron: We find the deputy chair of Zespri in Sao Paulo, as we discuss the rising fortunes of the kiwifruit industry and the challenges of having a daughter in The Bachelor.

2. Damien O’Connor: Labour’s Primary Industry spokesman ponders tomorrow’s financial results from Fonterra and says a fair society needs a ‘Universal Basic Income’.

3. John Wilson: Fonterra’s chairman expands on this morning’s six month profit and dividend announcement results and we ask if his chief executive is in for another pay rise?

4. Richard Fitzgerald: We catch up with a Mid Canterbury farmer and former chief executive of the Young Farmer Contest caught up in the terror attacks in Brussels.

5. Winston Peters: The New Zealand First leader comes up with a saviour for New Zealand agriculture and surprisingly it’s not him!

6. David Clarke: Rabobank’s Regional Manager for the Northern South Island provides an update on his patch, reviews the Canterbury Ballance Farm Environment Awards and his bank’s latest Agribusiness Monthly Report.
