Intro script:
Each day Shelley Wilkinson is looking at a different facet of a little copper and brass instrument, the standard army issue bugle. Today we take a trip to the National Army Museum in Waiouru …… to gaze on a shrapnel torn bugle and find out its story.
Outro script:
The fifth bugle story in our series was presented and produced for Radio New Zealand Concert by Shelley Wilkinson. This programme was made with assistance from Windsor Jones, the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa and Peter Sledmere.
If you want to see the photos Shelley mentioned go to Radio New Zealand’s website and type “bugles” in the search box, they’ll be in the Bugle Stories gallery. Tomorrow is our final story and Shelley will explain why she refers to a very special call as a kind of bitsa!
