Hamo at Heart is a bilingual Samoan/English youth oriented programme that highlights the stories and passions of the local Samoan community engaged in the arts, sports, enterprise and more. It broadcasts every fortnight on Wednesday afternoon at 4pm on Plains FM.

In this episode Ana speaks with Tate and Jase Tiatia who raise their children in Te Reo Māori and gagana Samoa. We also hear them talking to their daughter (preschooler) Amanika. Ana also visits Rowley Avenue School (the school has Māori and Samoan bilingual units) and speaks with the students about learning Samoan. The next feature is different pathways to success: sporting cousins Cassie and Sabastian Siataga; and jazz student Mahlon Moevao.

From the Plains FM website: Hamo at Heart is a bilingual show for Samoan Cantabrians or anyone with a heart for Samoa. Presented by Ana Mulipola, Hamo at Heart highlights the stories and passions of the local Samoan community engaged in the arts, sports, enterprise and more. This show is aimed at a younger generation of Samoans to help keep the Samoan language and culture vibrant for younger people and to facilitate cross-generational conversations to enhance mutual respect and develop an understanding of different perspectives.
